Nail Shape
Avoid trimming the sides of the nails into an arc shape, as this may cause paronychia.
Correct Method: Keep the nail edge straight, flush with the fingertip.
Hook and Spoon Removal
Never pull out hooks and spoons with your hands, as this will damage the surrounding skin tissue.
Correct Method: Trim the hook from the root with sterilized nail clippers and apply baby lotion.
Trim Depth
Do not cut the nail too short, as this will damage the nail bed and cause abnormal nail growth.
Correct Standard: The nail length should be flush with the fingertip, leaving a 1-2 mm white edge.
Trim Timing
Preferably trim when the baby is asleep to avoid accidental injury due to movement.
If the baby is awake, two people should work together to restrain the limb and distract the baby.
