1. Electronic fence design: Appropriate electronic fences should be configured to meet different security levels. Security levels are generally divided into three levels:
(1) Deterrent: A single zone is set up for the entire perimeter, such as a 4-wire system installed on the top of a wall. It has both blocking alarm and deterrent effects.
(2) Medium security level: Each zone is no longer than 300 meters; zones longer than 300 meters should be divided into multiple zones.
(3) High security level: Each zone is 100 meters long, and the entire fence is divided into multiple zones. Each zone has its own independent trigger alarm, indicating the zone where the alarm is located. The alarm output is usually linked with other security systems such as CCTV, infrared beams, spotlights, and alarms. In actual use, the length of each zone should be set according to length, terrain, and economic needs.
2. Electronic fence installation: Electronic fences are installed in three basic forms based on their location on site: independent, attached, and wall-mounted.
Independent electronic fences are directly erected on the ground. Its height is approximately 2 meters, and it typically houses 10-12 cables. Considering equipment and personnel safety, a protective wall or fence at least 1.2 meters high is required on one or both sides of the freestanding electronic fence. The clearance between them should be no less than 1 meter. This ensures that the normal operating area of the freestanding electronic fence is within a closed area that is generally inaccessible to the public.
Attached electronic fences are attached to existing walls. These are mainly used in situations requiring a high level of security without occupying surrounding land. Three requirements apply to existing walls: First, the wall must be strong enough to withstand the tension and pressure of the electronic fence. Second, the wall height should be no less than 2 meters. Third, the mesh size of the wall must be less than 50mm to prevent hands from reaching into and touching the electronic fence attached to the inside of the wall. Top-mounted electronic fences are more common in China, erected on top of or to the side of existing walls. They can be installed vertically or at a certain angle. The height of the electronic fence is approximately 0.8 meters.
